MyBlock (Beta Version 0.3)
WE'RE WALKING EVERY BLOCK TO LOOK AT THE VACANT LOTS
Most of them have been empty a long time. That didn't happen by accident. It won't get fixed by accident either.
WHAT WE WRITE DOWN

The lot. Its address, who owns it on the city's records, what condition it's in, whether a house could go there.

All of it is public information you could look up yourself.
WHAT WE DON'T

Anything about who lives where. We're surveying land, not people.

If you tell us not to contact you again, we write that down too — and we honor it.
IF YOU SEE US OUT THERE, COME SAY HELLO
Ask what we're doing. Tell us what you know about your block — you know things about it we can't see from the sidewalk.
THREE THINGS WE BELIEVE
It all starts with the residents
We work with great builders who care about what residents think. These surveys will inform builders as they consider where to build and what to build in this neighborhood.

When we visit a neighborhood that many people call home,
everyone deserves our respect
We give notice before we visit a neighborhood. We explain what we are doing to any resident who asks. If someone wants us to leave their home, we leave.

Vacant lots exist for a reason
Vacant lots are the result of redlining, disinvestment, and decades of demolition. It takes careful investment to bring homes back.
