Impact

CDA is proud to present our 2024 Annual Impact Report.

In many ways, 2024 was a remarkable year for CDA as we continued to advance racial equity through homeownership.

We enjoyed many milestones and accomplishments, including:

  • Putting resident voice first by establishing the 15-member Resident Advisory Council on Housing (RACH) and electing two of its members to CDA's Board;

  • Mobilizing the 150 attendees of our annual September conference to begin developing the Homeownership Bill of Rights to protect vulnerable neighborhoods across Milwaukee from gentrification and displacement;

  • Sold the first of 40 homes built exclusively for early childhood educators who are at risk of displacement;

  • Successfully lobbied to restore $1.25 million in City funding for the critical down-payment assistance program;

  • Secured $2.3 million in City TID financing for the Midtown Homeownership Initiative; and

  • Received the Associated Bank Trailblazer Award at the MANDIs.

Looking ahead, our priority in 2025 is to establish strategies and tactics to combat displacement and gentrification.

Want to partner with us on strategy and fundraising?

We have a small but mighty team that are creating and improving systems every day with our Milwaukee based allies.  If you are a Milwaukee based organization interested in expanding your housing operations to drive racial equity in housing, we would love to connect.  We are always happy to do an introductory meeting, and who knows you might be working on something that we can partner on.  For neighborhood based partners we are always available for resident collaboration or strategic planning sessions, we can help prepare customized data and strategies as our capacity allows.  Who knows where these conversations will lead!
