Impact
CDA is proud to present our 2025 Annual Impact Report.

We think 2025 was a year for the record books, thanks to Milwaukee residents, volunteers and affordable housing allies. Among the highlights:
-
The Milwaukee Common Council voted to fully fund down payment assistance;
-
78 new affordable homes were built;
-
38 rental homes were acquired for sale to families seeking their own home;
-
986 families who completed homebuyer coaching became first-time homeowners; and
-
83 percent of those were families of color.

Through 2026, we will look to build upon the momentum from our success in 2025.

Policy:
CDA is looking to influence housing policy at the State level, and is recruiting housing accomplices to help us advocate our policy positions in Madison. This includes protecting aging neighbors from displacement through property tax reform, and new long-term funding sources for DPA.

New Construction:
CDA has been working with residents to build 94 new construction homes in Amani. These new homes are priced affordably for existing residents and include protections against displacement.

New Resources for Housing:
CDA is expanding its fundraising capacity to raise resources for systems change, our evergreen TID Fund, and DPA.

Residents:
CDA will continue our vital collaboration with residents and will work to elevate their stories, facilitate direct meetings with policymakers, and leverage their housing advocacy at the state level.

Fundraising

Want to partner with us on strategy and fundraising?
We have a small but mighty team that are creating and improving systems every day with our Milwaukee based allies. If you are a Milwaukee based organization interested in expanding your housing operations to drive racial equity in housing, we would love to connect. We are always happy to do an introductory meeting, and who knows you might be working on something that we can partner on. For neighborhood based partners we are always available for resident collaboration or strategic planning sessions, we can help prepare customized data and strategies as our capacity allows. Who knows where these conversations will lead! Contact us at ideas@housingplan.org.
