ADVANCING RACIAL EQUITY BY PROVIDING A QUALITY, AFFORDABLE HOME FOR EVERY MILWAUKEEAN
Milwaukee's Collective Affordable Housing Plan
Displacement has been elevated by residents as posing a risk to Black & Latino homeownership strategies. If recent community conversations have taught us anything, it's that we do not have a consensus on what the causes of displacement are, what policy solutions are available to combat displacement, and how those policy solutions should be prioritized. We need your help to build a Homeowner & Future Homeowner Bill of Rights where:
-
Existing homeowners and residents have the right to thrive in their homes without being displaced,
-
Future homeowners have the right to attainable entry level homes, and
-
Everyone has the right to attain safe, quality housing
Building a Homeowner & Future Homeowner Bill of Rights will help inform and prioritize the policy efforts of the alliance and provide direction and accountability for policy makers looking to advance racial equity and anti-displacement efforts in housing.
