Meet Johanna
What is your role at CDA?
​
I help drive CDA’s policy and advocacy efforts by establishing, facilitating, and maintaining open communication with our policy allies. My role includes identifying and recruiting partners to participate in CDA’s Policy & Advocacy Council, as well as developing advocacy and lobbying strategies that advance our Priority Policies. Through this work, I help ensure that CDA’s mission is amplified and supported at the policy level.
Why do you do this work?

I don't consider what I do work, in the sense that is an occupation. I do this work because it is part of my purpose which is to empower others to improve their financial and housing situations. I also love being part of a larger community of loving, hard-working, family oriented, and dedicated allies.
What drew you to CDA?
​
My housing journey and both personal and professional purposes align perfectly with the mission and objectives of CDA. I am a product of successful collective work by community-based organizations, amazing leaders, and longtime colleagues that share the same passion for uplifting our city one house, one neighborhood, one family at a time.
What do you do for fun in Milwaukee?
​
I enjoy walking at some of the amazing parks and natural spaces we have in our city. Attend local community events. I love spending time in my garden growing vegetables and flowers.
