Our Policy Objectives
Take Action
CDA is committed to collaborating with municipalities to advance statewide legislation that strengthens and supports local governments. By working together, we can create policies that not only prioritize homeowners and protect vulnerable families, but also provide municipalities with the tools they need to better serve their residents. Looking ahead, we may also partner with the county, recognizing that housing justice requires coordination at every level of government. We are in this for the long haul—building lasting structures of advocacy and policy change that will sustain Milwaukee and its neighborhoods for generations.
Real change requires collective power.
CDA is building a network of 100 residents and allies who will:
-
Learn, advocate, and work together for housing justice.
-
Get on local, state, and county agendas.
-
Show up in numbers.

CDA is taking the next step in resident-led advocacy by building a Policy Council—a leadership body that will guide, activate, and strengthen the work of the CDA 100.
The Policy Council will:
-
Manage and support the CDA 100, ensuring residents and allies are organized, trained, and ready to engage.
-
Carry out CDA’s policy objectives, advancing initiatives that prioritize homeowners over investors and protect vulnerable families from displacement.
-
Provide resident leadership and accountability, making sure community voices remain at the center of Milwaukee’s housing policy decisions.
