What is your role at CDA?

At CDA, I’m thrilled to lead our resident collaboration strategy, creating a strong foundation for public participation where community voices truly matter in shaping our initiatives and priorities. I’m passionate about adapting to the ever-changing needs of our community, which helps me design engaging sessions that resonate with residents to work collectively. By supporting a city-wide resident council and building meaningful relationships with resident leaders and community partners, we work to foster an inclusive and collaborative atmosphere for everyone involved. My role also includes coordinating session logistics, keeping everything organized, and weaving together feedback from residents across CDA’s footprint, turning their insights into direction for our strategies and policy recommendations. As the main link between residents and CDA leadership, I’m dedicated to ensuring our communication is clear and accessible, reflecting the rich diversity of experiences that guide our mission, and I'm always ready to adjust our approach to meet the evolving needs of our community.

Why do you do this work?

Building for my community is in my DNA! I'm proud to be the first woman in my family to follow in the footsteps of three generations of male builders.

What drew you to CDA?

​

The heart of the strategies. It bothers me that children are growing up around a sea of vacant lots, and adults reminiscing about those who “use to live there”. The idea of taking those vacant lots and transforming them into new homes for families is so exciting and the right thing to do!
